Mumbai, Jun 20 (PTI) The Maharashtra government on Friday extended the deadline to withdraw criminal cases arising out of agitations and protests on political and social issues till March 31, 2025, an official said.
Earlier, the state home department had said in an order that all such cases where a charge sheet was filed by August 31, 2024, would be withdrawn.
But there were some cases where the charge sheet was filed after this date, the official said.
As per the `government resolution’ or order issued on Friday, the cases registered against workers of political parties and social activists who had staged agitations on issues benefiting the public at large, where the charge sheet was filed by March 31 this year, will be withdrawn, he added.
