Filmmaker Karan Johar has announced a week-long break from social media, calling it a “digital detox.” The update was shared via his Instagram Stories, where he signalled a complete pause from scrolling, posting, and messages.

The Note That Said It All

In a short, direct message, KJo wrote:

“Digital Detox for a week! No doom scrolling! No DMs! No posts! May the universe give me the strength to stay away!!!!”

Why It’s Being Talked About

While Johar hasn’t specified a detailed reason for the break, the timing comes amid heightened online commentary around Bollywood conversations and reactions to recent releases. Reports also note he had recently pushed back against what he described as social media “noise,” including commentary around actor Varun Dhawan.

A Reflective Horizon Awaits

This isn’t a disappearance—it’s a one-week reset. A pause from doom-scrolling, DMs and posting—designed to reclaim headspace from the always-on churn of the feed.
