Actor-filmmaker Divya Khosla Kumar has released a phone call recording with producer Mukesh Bhatt, days after he was quoted as saying she created the ‘Savi vs Jigra’ controversy as a publicity stunt. In the audio, shared on her Instagram, Divya confronts Bhatt over reports that he accused her of “cheap” tactics and using Alia Bhatt’s Jigra for attention.

Bhatt is heard firmly denying the charge, telling her that he never said such things and blaming the reports on “people with vested interests” trying to hurt her, especially since they surfaced on her birthday. He calls the chatter “planned” and urges her not to believe the “slander”.

Divya, who starred in and co-produced Savi, has alleged similarities between that film’s jailbreak plot and Jigra, sparking a months-long online feud. Bhatt had earlier dismissed her claims in an interview, suggesting controversies are sometimes created “for publicity” and defending Alia as someone who doesn’t need to indulge in “cheap acts”.

Sharing the recording, Divya said she was “deeply shocked” and accused sections of the industry of hierarchy, lobbying, gatekeeping and trying to sabotage careers, calling it “time to speak up” against the so-called “Bollywood mafia”.
