Actor-dancer Nora Fatehi has hit back sharply at trolls questioning her clarification on the controversy surrounding Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke, the song from the upcoming film KD: The Devil. The track has faced heavy backlash online over its lyrics and visuals, with singer Armaan Malik also criticizing it and saying commercial songwriting had hit “a new low.”
Nora’s clarification
Nora recently shared a video on Instagram explaining her side of the controversy. She said she had shot the song three years ago in Kannada and was not aware of or consulted about the Hindi version that was later released. She also said the Hindi adaptation had been made without her approval and that she had distanced herself from it.
Nora’s sharp reply to trolls
Her explanation, however, did not convince everyone. Several users questioned her claims in the comments section, prompting Nora to respond directly. According to Hindustan Times, she replied to one critic, “Are you stupid or u don’t understand English? What did I say in the start of the video?” She also reacted strongly to another comment and told the user to back off.
Why the song is under fire
The controversy around Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke began soon after the song’s release, with many viewers calling its lyrics vulgar and sexually suggestive. The song, which features Nora Fatehi alongside Sanjay Dutt, quickly drew criticism on social media, with some users questioning how such content was cleared for mainstream release.
Bigger debate around the row
The episode has once again sparked debate around lyrical content, creative responsibility and the scrutiny faced by performers attached to controversial songs. While Nora has defended herself by distancing herself from the Hindi version, the row has kept both the song and her reaction in the spotlight.
