Performance and Hardware
At the heart of the OnePlus 13s lies Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, ensuring top-tier performance for gaming, multitasking, and daily use. The device is equipped with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, promising swift app launches and smooth multitasking.
To maintain optimal performance, especially during intensive tasks, the OnePlus 13s features a 4,400 sq mm Cryo-Velocity vapor chamber. This advanced cooling system, complemented by a cooling layer on the back cover, ensures efficient heat dissipation.
Display and Design
The smartphone boasts a 6.32-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution. It supports a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, ensuring fluid visuals, and offers a peak brightness of 1600 nits. The display also supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and is protected by Oppo’s Crystal Shield Glass for enhanced durability.
Despite housing a substantial battery, the OnePlus 13s maintains a slim profile with a thickness of 8.15mm and weighs just 185 grams.
Camera Capabilities
Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the OnePlus 13s’s dual rear camera setup, featuring a 50MP Sony LYT-700 primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and a 50MP Samsung JN5 telephoto lens offering 2x optical zoom. For selfies and video calls, the device is equipped with a 32MP front-facing camera.
Battery and Charging
The OnePlus 13s is powered by a 6,260mAh ‘Glacier Battery,’ a first for compact smartphones. This large-capacity battery supports 80W SuperVOOC fast charging, ensuring minimal downtime. Despite its size, the battery does not compromise the device’s lightweight design.
In real-world usage scenarios, OnePlus claims the device can deliver up to 24 hours of usage on a single charge during WhatsApp calls and 16 hours of browsing on Instagram.
Connectivity and Network Features
The OnePlus 13s introduces a revamped 360-degree antenna system comprising 11 antennas, including three high-performance modules and four-mode ultra-wideband low-frequency antennas. This setup aims to enhance signal strength by up to 60%, even in challenging environments like elevators or crowded areas.
Additionally, the device features a G1 Wi-Fi chipset, developed specifically for Indian conditions, ensuring stable and fast connectivity, even in areas with typically weak signals. The smartphone also supports 5.5G connectivity, allowing it to connect to three network cells across different towers simultaneously.
Innovative Features
Replacing the traditional alert slider, the OnePlus 13s introduces a customizable ‘Plus Key.’ This button allows users to quickly access functions like Sound, Vibration, Do Not Disturb, and even AI tools, enhancing user convenience.
Software and User Interface
Out of the box, the OnePlus 13s will run on Android 15, layered with OxygenOS 15. This combination promises a clean, near-stock Android experience with enhanced security features, productivity tools, and personalization options.
Pricing and Market Positioning
While the official pricing is yet to be announced, leaks suggest that the OnePlus 13s will be priced between ₹45,000 to ₹50,000 in India. This positions it as an upper-midrange device, offering flagship-level features at a more accessible price point.
With its blend of premium features, compact design, and competitive pricing, the OnePlus 13s is set to make a significant impact in the Indian smartphone market. As the launch date approaches, consumers eagerly await the opportunity to experience OnePlus’s latest offering.
