New Delhi, Jan 13 (PTI) – Operation Sindoor remains ongoing and any future misadventure by the adversary will be dealt with effectively, Army Chief Gen Upendra Dwivedi said on Tuesday, sending a strong warning to Pakistan.
Addressing a press conference, Gen Dwivedi said the operation had helped reset strategic assumptions by allowing Indian forces to strike deep and dismantle terror infrastructure, while also puncturing Islamabad’s “longstanding nuclear rhetoric.”
“As you may be aware, Operation Sindoor remains ongoing, and any future misadventure will be resolutely responded to,” the Army chief said.
He described the operation as India’s calibrated and resolute response to cross-border terrorism, underlining the Army’s readiness, precision and strategic clarity. He added that Indian troops have been mobilised and are prepared for ground offensives if required.
Gen Dwivedi said the situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China remains stable but requires constant vigilance. He noted that renewed contacts and confidence-building measures are contributing to gradual normalisation along the northern front.
“Concurrently, capability development and infrastructure enhancement are progressing through a whole-of-government approach,” he said.
The Army chief also said the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir remains sensitive but firmly under control.
