Actor Parag Tyagi observed Ganesh Chaturthi in a deeply emotional and poignant manner, commemorating the late actress Shefali Jariwala, fulfilling her last wish, and continuing a tradition that they once shared. His heartfelt tribute captured the attention of fans and the entertainment fraternity alike.
Carrying On a Shared Tradition
On August 29, Parag Tyagi welcomed Lord Ganesha into his home, as he and Shefali had done in previous years, but this time dedicated the celebration to her memory. In a touching Instagram reel, he documented the ceremony, from the arrival of “Bappa” to the aarti, and finally the heartfelt farewell during visarjan. A particularly moving moment: Parag performed the rituals with his hand resting on Shefali’s tattoo, inked on his chest, symbolizing her continued presence in the celebration.
A Farewell Filled with Love
In the reel’s closing scene, Parag paused before Shefali’s framed portrait while holding the idol, transforming the customary farewell into a moment of remembrance and quiet reverence. He captioned the post with a poignant note:
“Pari always wanted that Bappa should never stop visiting & bless her home. This year, Bappa also visited and showered his blessings on u, my baby…Humne sab ne saath me visarjan kiya. Always keep smiling, my love. Mom, @sunita.jariwala, put in all the hard work. Love you eternally, Pari.”
He ended the message with the hashtags #shefalijariwala, #justforyou, and #shefalijariwalarisefoundation.
Beyond Ritual: Continuing Her Vision
The Ganesh Chaturthi tribute comes shortly after Parag launched the Shefali Jariwala Rise Foundation for Girls’ Education and Women Empowerment, a heartfelt project aimed at carrying forward Shefali’s lifelong passion for uplifting girls and women. He also revealed plans to soon debut a podcast on YouTube, where he intends to share memories of their life together and reflect on the night that changed everything.
A Life Remembered
Shefali Jariwala, widely known as the “Kaanta Laga Girl,” tragically passed away on June 27, 2025, due to a sudden cardiac arrest, leaving the industry and her fans in mourning. Her final rites were conducted in Mumbai, with emotional tributes pouring in from friends and co-stars.
