Prime Video has confirmed the global premiere of its Hindi psychological crime thriller series Daldal on January 30, 2026, streaming in India and across 240+ countries and territories. The announcement landed with a gritty teaser and a first-look reveal, signaling a bleak, atmospheric investigation set in Mumbai.
Bhumi Pednekar Leads as DCP Rita Ferreira
At the centre is Bhumi Pednekar as DCP Rita Ferreira, a newly appointed officer in the Mumbai Crime Branch who is pushed into a high-pressure hunt for a cold-blooded serial killer—while also battling guilt, trauma, and the darker layers within the system.
Not Just “Who Did It” — The Series Pitches a “Why”
The show is positioning itself beyond a standard procedural, focusing on psychology, motive and moral compromise rather than only the identity of the killer. Prime Video executives have described the series as a genre push that leans into character depth and psychological tension.
Makers and Writing Team
Daldal is produced by Abundantia Entertainment, created for streaming by Suresh Triveni, and directed by Amrit Raj Gupta. It is produced by Vikram Malhotra and Triveni, with a writing team that includes Triveni, Sreekanth Agneeaswaran, Rohan D’Souza, Priya Saggi and Hussain Haidry.
Ensemble Cast
Along with Pednekar, the series features Aditya Rawal and Samara Tijori, with additional cast members including Geeta Agrawal and Chinmay Mandlekar, as reported with the teaser launch.
Based on Vish Dhamija’s Bhendi Bazaar
The narrative is adapted from Vish Dhamija’s bestselling novel Bhendi Bazaar, using its dark, morally tangled world as the foundation for the series’ Mumbai-set crime story.
Festival Buzz: First Look at IFFI 2025
Prime Video had earlier unveiled a first look at Daldal during a special showcase at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2025 in Goa, building early chatter around its women-led, psychologically driven tone.
