Protean eGov Technologies begins AI-first journey to build future-ready workforce

Redington Foundation joins hands with Protean VidyaSaarthi for ₹1 Crore+ Scholarship Program

Mumbai, Jan 29, 2026 (PTI): Protean eGov Technologies has launched a comprehensive employee capability transformation programme aimed at embedding artificial intelligence across roles, functions and workflows, the company said on Thursday.

Branded Future Force AI, the initiative marks a strategic shift to position artificial intelligence as a core organisational capability rather than a peripheral productivity tool, with the objective of reshaping how work is designed, executed and scaled.

As the first milestone under the programme, Protean organised a company-wide, full-day Experiential AI Learning Lab. More than 700 employees across business units, functions and designations — accounting for over 90 per cent of the workforce — participated in the initiative. The programme also saw participation from board members, the managing director and chief executive officer, and the senior leadership team.

The organisation-wide AI immersion focused on practical applications and real-world use cases, enabling employees to understand how AI tools can be integrated into everyday workflows. Participants were introduced to concepts such as prompt engineering, context-setting, output refinement and workflow automation through live business scenarios and functional case studies.

During the programme, teams worked on customised capstone projects drawn from their own work environments, applying AI to tasks such as documentation, analysis, reporting and content synthesis. The company said this approach demonstrated how AI can automate high-frequency, time-intensive tasks while improving accuracy, turnaround time and decision support.

Commenting on the initiative, Protean eGov Technologies Chief Human Resources Officer Harpreet Anand said the transformation is designed to enable a mindset shift by demonstrating the practical impact AI can have on daily work. He said the scale of participation reflects the company’s intent to build an AI-first organisation and that additional capability-building interventions are planned to deepen digital proficiency and create a sustained culture shift.

At an industry level, the company said the initiative highlights the need for organisations to evolve operating models, governance frameworks and technology environments alongside employee skill development to support AI adoption at scale. This includes policy modernisation, secure platforms and organisational readiness for AI-driven ways of working.

Protean said its internal transformation carries broader significance given its three-decade role in building large-scale digital systems of national importance and contributing to India’s digital public infrastructure journey.

The company said the Future Force AI initiative underscores the importance of investing in people alongside technology to prepare organisations for the evolving digital economy.
