National Award-winning actor-filmmaker Rishab Shetty has begun the journey of his upcoming mythological epic ‘Jai Hanuman’ with a grand muhurat and puja ceremony held on February 22, 2026, at Anjanadri Betta near Hampi, Karnataka—a site widely revered by devotees as the birthplace of Lord Hanuman.
Directed by Prasanth Varma and positioned as the next major chapter in the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU), the film features Rishab Shetty portraying Lord Hanuman. The launch event brought together the core team, including producers Bhushan Kumar (T-Series) and Naveen Yerneni & Y. Ravi Shankar (Mythri Movie Makers), along with Shiv Chanana.
Adding to the moment, Teja Sajja—the face of 2024’s ‘Hanu-Man’—also attended the ceremony, underlining the franchise connect and the makers’ larger PVCU plans.
A spiritually significant launch
The makers chose Anjanadri Betta for the ceremonial start, aligning the film’s scale and subject with a location that holds deep devotional value. Visuals from the puja showed the cast and crew in traditional attire, participating in rituals to seek blessings before the next production phase begins.
What to expect next
While the project has now been formally launched, reports indicate principal shooting is expected to roll from April 2026. The film is being mounted as a big, pan-India mythological spectacle, with more details on the supporting cast, music, and full schedule expected to be announced as production progresses.
