Television fans were recently thrilled to hear that the iconic daily soap Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is making a comeback with a Season 2. The reboot, led once again by Smriti Irani as Tulsi and Amar Upadhyay as Mihir, is already in production. However, one name missing from the returning cast is Ronit Roy, who played Mihir Virani after Amar’s exit in the original series. Roy has now publicly addressed why he chose not to be part of the revival.

“The Show Is Close to My Heart, But…”

In an interview with ETimes, Ronit Roy clarified why he turned down the opportunity to reprise his role in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2. He stated:

“I’m happy that they decided to bring the show back. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out for me. But the show will always be close to my heart.”

Ronit Roy joined the original series after Amar Upadhyay left midway. He went on to play Mihir Virani for nearly eight years, becoming one of the most memorable faces associated with the show.
