Mumbai, Actor Shah Rukh Khan on Friday unveiled the first-ever property named after him at a high-profile event in Mumbai, marking a new kind of brand extension for the Bollywood star beyond films and endorsements.

The Dubai-based project, titled “Shahrukhz Danube”, is a 56-storey tower being developed by the Danube Group and is billed as the first real estate tower to carry the name of a film actor. The launch took place at a five-star hotel in Mumbai, attended by Khan, Danube Group founder and chairman Rizwan Sajan, and choreographer-filmmaker Farah Khan, with whom the actor has collaborated on several hit films.

Speaking at the event, Shah Rukh Khan said the honour was deeply personal, recalling how proud his late mother would have been to see his name on a tower. He added that he looks forward to one day showing the building to his children and telling them it bears their father’s name.

The actor described Shahrukhz Danube as a state-of-the-art yet relatively affordable project aimed at people starting out in Dubai — whether looking for a home or a base to build their businesses. He said he was closely involved in reviewing the building’s plans over the past two months and was drawn to the idea of being associated with a project that caters to aspirational buyers.

Sajan, whose Danube Group is behind the development, has positioned the tower as a landmark addition to Dubai’s skyline, with an estimated project value of around ₹4,000 crore. According to the developers, the building is expected to be completed in three to four years and will feature 56 floors of residential and commercial spaces.

In a nod to Khan’s on-screen legacy, the tower will also feature a statue at the entrance depicting his trademark arms-outstretched pose, designed as a photo spot for residents and visitors.

True to an SRK event, the evening doubled as a mini stage show. The actor recreated his signature romantic pose, walked like his character from Don and delivered a famous dialogue from Om Shanti Om, drawing loud cheers from the audience. He also joined Farah Khan and Sajan on stage for a brief dance to his iconic track “Chaiyya Chaiyya.”

Khan noted that both he and the developer wanted the launch to happen in India rather than Dubai, saying it was important for him that the announcement be made in the city he calls home, even though the tower itself will rise in Dubai.

With Shahrukhz Danube, the 60-year-old star adds a new chapter to his three-decade career — this time, not on celluloid but in concrete and glass, as fans and investors alike look to see how the “King of Bollywood” translates into a marquee on the Dubai skyline.
