Sophie Turner has said she’s not completely closed off to returning as Sansa Stark if a Game of Thrones follow-up ever happens—though she added a blunt, humorous condition. Speaking to The Direct, Turner laughed and said: “Show me the money,” before adding that a return could be “hard but also amazing.”
“I’d Have to See a Script”
Turner also stressed that any decision would depend on the material. She noted that revisiting something fans once loved can be risky—either an “utter joy” or an attempt to recreate magic that may not return—and said she’d need to read a script before committing.
Why Sansa’s Ending Matters
One reason Turner sounds cautious is that she feels Sansa got one of the stronger conclusions in the original series—ending as Queen in the North. In the same conversation, she said she was happy with Sansa’s ending and suggested few others felt the same about their characters’ finales.
The Thrones Universe Is Still Expanding
While there’s no confirmed Sansa sequel, HBO continues building out the franchise, with A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms set to premiere January 18, 2026.
What Turner Is Doing Now
Turner has stayed busy post-Thrones with film and TV work, including recent crime/thriller projects, and is set to be seen next in Prime Video’s Steal.
