New Delhi, Dec 24 (PTI) President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday emphasised the urgent need to actively support the Centre’s “Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan” by promoting indigenous production, strengthening local supply chains, and boosting domestic industry.
Addressing Indian Defence Accounts Service officers at Rashtrapati Bhavan, she urged them to acquire new skills and leverage tools such as AI-driven financial analytics to make evidence-based decisions and ensure efficient fund utilisation.
“As young officers, many of you will be dealing with high-value and strategically significant proposals early in your careers. This is both a privilege and a responsibility. You are expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity,” Murmu said. She added that fairness, transparency, and accountability must guide every decision.
“Trust is the foundation of public service and it should be protected with unwavering commitment,” she added, highlighting the importance of adaptive, innovative, and technology-driven decision-making in today’s complex geopolitical and security environment.
Murmu said officers can contribute to building a self-reliant and resilient defence ecosystem while supporting the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat goals.
“Every efficient payment, every well-advised financial decision, and every transparent process contributes to national security and economic development.
