The makers of The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond have released the film’s official trailer on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, renewing debate around the franchise’s themes. The sequel is slated for a theatrical release on February 27, 2026.
What the trailer shows
The trailer opens with a warning that India could become an “Islamic state” within 25 years, then cuts across Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Kerala, following three young Hindu women whose lives spiral after relationships with Muslim men, with the narrative framed around allegations of coercion, conversion and betrayal.
In the trailer’s promotional push, the makers’ message includes lines such as “They targeted our daughters…” and the closing call “Ab sahenge nahi… ladenge.”

Ahead of release, producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah has said the film was shot with added security because of the subject’s sensitivity, while denying rumours of major disruption during filming.
The Kerala Story is a 2023 film (theatrical release: May 5, 2023), and it later won two honours at the 71st National Film Awards (Best Director for Sudipto Sen and Best Cinematography for Prasantanu Mohapatra), as reported during the awards cycle.
