Sitapur (UP), Mar 16 (PTI) Two farmers died after their tractor-trolley overturned here on Monday afternoon, crushing both underneath the vehicle, police said.
The accident occurred when Rajendra (30) and Pradeep (25) were returning home after selling sugarcane.
Near Kakori village on the Sidhouli-Mishrikh road, they lost control of the vehicle, and it overturned on the roadside, trapping them underneath the trolley, police added.
Rajendra and Pradeep, who were travelling on the trolley, were crushed under it and could not escape due to the severity of the accident.
Upon receiving information from villagers, a police team reached the spot. A bulldozer machine was arranged to lift the overturned trolley.
However, by the time the trolley was removed, the two farmers died on the spot, police said.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and their families have been informed, police added. PTI COR ABN OZ OZ OZ
