Mangaluru (Karnataka) Apr 1 (PTI) Two youths drowned after their boat capsized while they were fishing in the Phalguni river here on Wednesday, police said.

The deceased were identified as Ganesh (28) and Rayal (24), both residents of Kunjathbail, they said.

Another youth, Nithish (28), also from Kunjathbail, was rescued by locals, police said.

According to police, the three youths had gone fishing on Tuesday night, and the mishap occurred in the early hours of Wednesday.

During the enquiry, Nithish claimed that it happened all of a sudden and did not know the reason, a senior police officer said.

Kavoor police are investigating, he added. PTI COR AMP KH
