Unfortunate if true: RSS functionary on former ATS chief Raghuvanshi’s claims

Mumbai, Mar 18 (PTI) Reacting to the allegations made by former Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad chief K P Raghuvanshi about the ‘pressure’ he faced during the probe of the 2008 Malegaon blast case from the UPA government, an RSS functionary has said if such things had happened, it was unfortunate.

Raghuvanshi, in his biography “Troubleshooter”, has claimed that he was removed as ATS chief after he refused to arrest RSS leader Indresh Kumar due to lack of evidence in the Malegaon blast case.

According to the book penned by journalist Jitendra Dixit, Raghuvanshi was summoned to Delhi and was asked to arrest Kumar. Raghuvanshi declined, citing absence of evidence, following which he was removed from his post, it claims.

Asked about the book at a press conference here on Tuesday, RSS Konkan region executive Vitthalrao Kamble said, “None of us was there when all these incidents happened. If these things happened, it was unfortunate. That is all we can say now.” PTI ND KRK
