HBO’s acclaimed finance drama Industry will conclude with its fifth season, creators Mickey Down and Konrad Kay confirmed on February 25, 2026. The announcement comes just days before the Season 4 finale airs on March 1, 2026 at 8 pm ET—an hour earlier than the show’s usual slot—setting up a bittersweet countdown to the series’ final chapter.
In a joint statement, Down and Kay said they’ve been thinking for some time about ending the story on “an unparalleled high,” adding, “Unlike some of our characters, we know when to leave a party.”
HBO’s praise and ratings boost
HBO drama chief Francesca Orsi credited the show for consistently “examining power, money, politics, and class,” and noted that Season 4 has been recognized as bigger and more thrilling than ever—confirming that the decision to end with Season 5 came from the creators themselves.
The renewal news also arrives amid a viewership jump: Season 4 is tracking roughly 30% above Season 3, averaging about 1.7 million U.S. viewers per episode across HBO and Max.
Jane Tranter: “The little engine that could”
Executive producer Jane Tranter of Bad Wolf reflected on the show’s long journey, saying that when they first pitched Industry to HBO, they believed it might be “the little engine that could”—and that “over 10 years later,” it has proven exactly that.
What to expect from the final season
Plot specifics remain under wraps, but Season 5 is expected to bring a high-stakes close to the arcs of Harper Stern (Myha’la), Yasmin Kara-Hanani (Marisa Abela) and the wider Pierpoint/Tender orbit. With the series promising to go out at full throttle, fans are now bracing for one last ruthless ride through ambition, excess and consequences.
