Fashion influencer and reality TV personality Uorfi Javed has revealed that she will not be attending the 2025 Cannes Film Festival due to a visa rejection. Despite receiving an invitation to the prestigious event, Javed expressed that walking the red carpet is “not an achievement” for her.

Visa Rejection Halts Cannes Debut

Javed, known for her bold and unconventional fashion choices, shared on Instagram that her plans to attend Cannes were derailed when her visa application was denied. She had secured an opportunity to appear at the festival through Indie Wild, thanks to Diipa Khosla and Kshitij Kankaria.

“Got an opportunity to go to Cannes through Indie Wild. (Big big thank you to Diipa Khosla and Kshitij Kankaria) But as fate would have it, my visa got rejected,” she wrote in her post.

Personal and Professional Setbacks

In her emotional post, Javed also opened up about recent challenges in her life, including the failure of her business ventures and facing multiple rejections. She explained that these difficulties contributed to her recent absence from social media and public appearances.

“I haven’t been uploading anything or been seen anywhere because I was going through a phase. My business didn’t work. I tried a bunch of other different things only to face rejections,” she shared.

Red Carpet Appearance ‘Not an Achievement’

Despite the setback, Javed maintained a pragmatic perspective on the situation. In a previous interview, she had expressed that attending the Cannes Film Festival is not a significant accomplishment for influencers or individuals without a film to showcase.

“It is okay if you wanna go there for your publicity then go, but I couldn’t get a chance this time. Whenever I do get that chance, but I don’t think that Cannes is an achievement for influencers or people like me to go there until you have a movie coming over,” she stated.

Encouraging Others to Share Rejection Stories

Javed concluded her post by encouraging her followers to share their own stories of rejection, emphasizing that setbacks are a normal part of life and can serve as opportunities for growth.

“Every rejection is an opportunity,” she wrote, urging fans to embrace their failures and continue striving toward their goals.

Fan Reactions and Support

News of Javed’s visa denial sparked a wave of reactions online, particularly on Reddit, where many fans expressed disappointment and support for her. Some criticized the visa process and lamented the challenges faced by individuals holding passports from developing countries. Others argued that Javed was more deserving of a Cannes appearance than other influencers, praising her creativity and boldness.

Looking Ahead

While disappointed by the missed opportunity, Javed remains focused on her career aspirations. She has previously stated that Bollywood is no longer her dream and that she aims to become the biggest reality TV star in India and an entrepreneur.

“Bollywood is not the dream anymore. I want to be the biggest reality TV star in India and be an entrepreneur,” she said in an interview.

As she continues to navigate the entertainment industry, Javed’s resilience and determination serve as an inspiration to many facing their own challenges and setbacks.
