Filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri has praised Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge, highlighting the film’s technical excellence and singling out two departments for special appreciation. The Ranveer Singh-led espionage thriller, which released on March 19, 2026, continues to draw strong reactions from industry figures as its box-office run remains dominant.
Agnihotri singles out cinematography and production design
In his latest post on X, Agnihotri wrote that he travelled from the countryside of California to Los Angeles to watch the film. Calling it “Shabash. Bravo. Brilliant once again,” he said he did not want to add noise to something that already speaks for itself. He then specifically praised cinematographer Vikash Nowlakha and production designer Saini Johray, saying their work elevates the film into something far greater. According to Agnihotri, the harmony between camera work and production design is what allows a film to rise to the level of a masterpiece. He added that the work done by both artists would “stand as a benchmark for a long time.”
A word of caution for Aditya Dhar
Alongside his praise, Agnihotri also addressed Aditya Dhar directly with a note of caution. He described Dhar as sharp and said he knows his path, but advised him to remain mindful of “the ecosystem,” calling it both seductive and vicious. The comment quickly became a talking point online.
Not the first time he has praised Dhar
This is not the first time Agnihotri has publicly admired Dhar’s work. In January 2026, after watching the first Dhurandhar, he said he was “mind-blown” and referred to Aditya Dhar as “God’s own child,” praising both the filmmaker and the craft behind the film.
Film continues record-breaking run
Meanwhile, Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues its strong theatrical run. Trade coverage on March 30 reported the film at around ₹1,361.95 crore worldwide gross, underlining the scale of its success and the attention it is receiving from across the industry.
