Releasing on August 14, 2025, the Hindi version alone will hit 5,000 screens nationwide, according to The Times of India. This makes it one of the widest Hindi releases in recent years.

Part of a Billion-Rupee Franchise
War 2 is the sixth installment in YRF’s Spy Universe, after Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, and Tiger 3. Produced by Aditya Chopra, the franchise is known for delivering big-budget spectacles and star-studded crossovers.
The film will also connect to the upcoming project Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh, and will be followed by Pathaan vs Tiger, which is already in pre-production.
Clash with Rajinikanth’s Coolie
War 2 won’t have the Independence Day weekend all to itself. Rajinikanth’s Coolie has also opened advance bookings and is currently leading in several South Indian markets. Trade analysts expect War 2 to dominate in Hindi belts, while Coolie could control Tamil and Telugu territories.
